Professor from DSC Lectures at WUT

Zhongnan Online, May 21st—On the afternoon of May 20th, Doctor of Business Administration, Professor Anderson from Dixie State College of Utah spoke at the School of Business in Wuchang University of Technology.

At the beginning, Professor Anderson shared the connotation of “culture” and introduced the changes of different cultures around the world. Then, starting from the problems Wal-Mart met when it developed its international market, Professor Anderson compared the consumer behaviors between people over 35 years old and below in China, Russia, New England and the U.S.A. and analyzed the changes of cultural values in different communities. He discussed in detail the concepts of culture, the cultural values and the various cultural factors that influence consumer behaviors. Professor Anderson also shared the failures of some international markets for lack of in-depth researches on consumer culture. At last, Professor Anderson concluded that cultural value is an important factor that influences transnational investments and that market research is an essential way to know about different market cultures. 

After the lecture, Professor Anderson exchanged views with faculty and students on cultures and economics. Professor Anderson won constant applause for his humor and vividness during the lecture.

This lecture enables the faculty and students in WUT to know more about the cultures of China, America and Russia, equipping them with a global perspective and enhancing their humanistic qualities.

As is known, Mr. Anderson is a professor from the School of Business in Dixie State College of Utah. As a DBA and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Commerce in Eastern Oregon University as well as a member of the International Trade Research Association in Eastern Oregon University, Professor Anderson has gained great achievements and rich experience. Since 1994, he has visited countries and areas such as Russia, New England, Canada and Hong Kong to attend academic conferences and present his thesis.
