Zhongnan Online, April22------In the afternoon of April 21, the launch ceremony of "Meinan Scholarly Forum" and the report of “the cultivation of Chinese dreams and the spirit of scientific and technological innovation" was held on the second floor at the Lecture Hall of the library of WUT. Executive vice president Professor Wang Yuanzhang and other school leaders attend the meeting, Professor Zhang Duanming of Huazhong University of Science and Technology made the speech.
Professor Zhang Duanming is the professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the adviser to doctoral students, the vice-director of South Central Theoretical Physics Center, and the member of American Physical Society, American Scientific Promotion Agency and New York Academy of Science, and the vice-president of Chinese Front Symposium of Theoretical Physics Foundation.
“Science is the pursuit of truth, but the technology is mainly manifested in the application.” Professor Zhang mentioned repeatedly that science is the fountainhead of technology, our country lacks the world’s outstanding talented person, investigating its reason is lacking the innovative spirit, therefore Professor Zhang also called on that the schoolmate on the scene to be a person who dare to innovate.
In the final interactive session, the presenting students proposed their own questions to Professor Zhang, Professor Zhang answered the questions one by one with his own personal experience. He also said that our country is lack of a large number of advanced technical talents nowadays, and hoped that the schoolmate on the scene could fill the gap in the future and make the continuous efforts for the realization of the Chinese dreams.
